“We built a $62k MRR SaaS in 90 days. (Without ads or launching)”
Editor's note: Kleo started as Jake Ward's free Chrome extension for studying LinkedIn creators; it grew past 60K users, then got a cease-and-desist from LinkedIn and was shut down. Cameron, a software engineer who quit his job in September 2025, rebuilt it as a web app; in his post the stack is 'Claude Code for development' with Vercel, Inngest and Neon, and Indie Hackers says v2.0 went from cease-and-desist to launch in four weeks. This is a team with an experienced engineer and very large audiences, not a solo beginner. The Polar card is an image shared by the founder, not a live dashboard; the Indie Hackers article ($62k MRR) is paywalled past the intro, which we read. We found no TrustMRR listing.
How they got customers
The waitlist did all the work: Kleo 1.0, a free Chrome extension, had 60K to 70K users, and cofounders Jake Ward and Lara Acosta brought large LinkedIn audiences. They emailed the waitlist with 500 beta spots at a lifetime discount, sold out in four days, then opened 500 more, and Lara ran webinars showing features and testimonials. No ads.
Steps to try
Start with a waitlist you already own; Kleo's came from 60K users of its free first version and the cofounders' audiences.
From the sourceRebuild fast with Claude Code on managed infrastructure (Vercel, Inngest, Neon), then ship, learn and iterate.
From the sourceEmail the waitlist a limited beta offer, 500 spots with a lifetime discount, and close the doors when they sell out.
From the sourceSpend the beta bug bashing and adding the features users ask for, then open another limited batch.
From the sourceRun live webinars showing features and testimonials to convert the rest of the list.
From the sourceBuild on your own product, not on scraping a platform; LinkedIn's cease-and-desist is why Kleo 1.0 died.
