“We're doing $13,000 a month right now in monthly recurring revenue entirely through $29 a month subscriptions”

Rob Hallam (founder), Starter Story on YouTube, Dec 28, 2025

Editor's note: Rob Hallam is a software engineer with a computer science degree. After a layoff he spent two and a half years launching five products that made nothing, then ran a development agency that got clients through his X posts. SuperX began as a Chrome extension bought by Tibo Louis-Lucas (co-founder of Tweet Hunter); Rob partnered with him and built the SuperX web app. In the interview he says he uses Claude Code for his AI-assisted coding (about $200 a month). He doesn't say how much of SuperX it wrote. TrustMRR lists SuperX as founded in August 2025 and based in France.

How they got customers

Building in public on X every day. His launch post got about 32,000 views and 26 signups; a selfie post the same day got over 46,000 views and added $1,000 in MRR within 24 hours. He then used SuperX to grow SuperX: find what goes viral, make his own version, double down on the hits.

Steps to try

  1. Share the failures as well as the wins; a viral post about his five failed products brought his first $3,000 agency client.

  2. Charge from day one and build a painkiller, not a vitamin.

  3. Use your own product to grow your product; he grew SuperX on X with the system built into SuperX.

  4. Pick one stack and learn it deeply instead of chasing new tools (his: Next.js, Node.js, Tailwind, SQLite, with Claude Code for coding).

  5. When you post revenue screenshots, link a payment-provider profile so readers can check the number.
