“October 1st: $800 MRR. October 14th: $2,618 MRR. I launched my first-ever app just one month ago. I still don’t know how to code.”

Adel Benzehda (founder) on X, Oct 14, 2026

Editor's note: Adel Benzehda is a product designer. In his RevenueCat Shipaton 2026 entry he writes that before Ritmo he had never built a mobile or web app and didn't know how to code; he had the idea on Aug 24, 2026, and Ritmo was live on Google Play on Sep 4 and on the App Store on Sep 17. The entry's "Built with" list names Codex and Rork, alongside Swift, React Native, Supabase, Resend and RevenueCat, and the App Store bundle ID starts with "app.rork". He doesn't say how much of the code each tool wrote; on Aug 29 he posted that Codex beats Claude Code for him. Ritmo won third place in Shipaton's HAMM (Help Apps Make Money) award. His X bio links ritmodating.com, and TrustMRR links the listing to the same account.

How they got customers

He launched in Brazil first and grew inside running and fitness communities, especially local run clubs, which the app also lets users join. On top of that he runs localized Meta ad creatives. He says users are concentrated in five cities in southern Brazil and he is moving into São Paulo next, then Rio de Janeiro and Brasília. Paywalls are timed: after onboarding, a 50% offer on days three and seven, and Super Like prompts after a missed match.

Steps to try

  1. Start from something you keep hearing in real life: in run clubs it was "who here is single?"

  2. Ship fast with AI tools even if you can't code: idea to Google Play took 11 days.

  3. Launch in one market first (here, southern Brazil) and win its communities before expanding.

  4. Time paywalls and discounts to specific moments, like right after onboarding or before account deletion.

  5. Check the numbers early: Ritmo went from $747 in its first month to over $4,000 MRR in October, and the dashboard shows it.
